HAVE QUESTIONS?
WE HAVE ANSWERS!
Can you certify my dog so I can take it to work with me?
Not at this time. Loving Paws does not train or certify service dogs, emotional support animals, or dogs intended to accompany their owners in the workplace. Our program is designed specifically for those who wish to volunteer with their dog through Loving Paws to serve the broader community.
What breeds of dogs do you accept?
All breeds—and mixed breeds—are welcome! As long as your dog meets our training, temperament, and certification requirements, we’re happy to consider dogs of all shapes and sizes.
Can I take my dog to activities not scheduled through Loving Paws?
Yes—you are welcome to take your dog wherever you’d like. However, when participating in events not coordinated by Loving Paws, you are not acting as a Loving Paws volunteer. This means you are not covered by our liability insurance and may not wear Loving Paws gear or identify yourself as a Loving Paws team at those events.
Can I bring family members or friends with me on visits?
In many cases, yes! You’re welcome to bring guests to appropriate events. However, some locations have strict privacy, safety, or screening requirements that limit the number of visitors. We’ll let you know in advance if guests are allowed at a particular event.
Can my family or friends help handle my dog during visits?
Only trained and certified handlers are allowed to manage dogs during Loving Paws visits. If a family member or friend would like to become a certified handler, they’ll need to complete the full Loving Paws training and evaluation process.
Do dogs have to be on their leash during visits?
Yes, your dog must be on a leash and under your control at all times. Allowing your dog to run free endangers the dog and our guests and is never permitted in our program.
